This was my first ever experience of going into hospital for an operation of any description. Mark Norton, explained in clear detail the operation and what it entailed along with the required recovery and additional exercises. For this I was very grateful. This certainly helped in my preparations prior to going into hospital and alleviated a few fears, never having gone into hospital prior. My stay in the hospital was nothing but positive, all the staff were superb, and helpful and totally professional. My initial post operative pain was quickly dealt with, and they ensured my pain was regularly monitored. My post operation follow up was good, and I am very pleased with the outcome and alleviation of the arthritic pain I was in. Roll on the right hip is all I can say.

Very clear explanation of how the replacement hip would fit and of its composition. The visual images helped. made me feel at ease with our discussions.

I found Dr Norton to be very fair in his assessment as I had asked him for an opinion on my post operative injury where I had broken my femur and had a dynamic screw inserted. I wanted to know if it could be removed but Dr Norton's advice was that in view of the fact that I have osteoporosis, it was thought that the dynamic screw would be support for my leg even though it is causing discomfort especially when sitting. I have had physiotherapy which has helped through the NHS but now see a private person who is helping me. The more exercise I do, the more pain I get but hopefully it will improve. In view of my age, I can't expect to be back where I was before the accident but I am trying to work on my allotment but the digging is not the best exercise but I have borrowed a cycling machine and I have a rowing machine and will keep working on it. I appreciate all the care given to me both at Treliske and Hayle Hospitals. The staff have been so caring and kind.

I have had my right hip replacement operation with Mr Norton and am now awaiting a left replacement hopefully fairly soon. I have nothing but praise for his friendly and professional manner.
